CALVIN XMAS 2011

Merry Christmas family and friends! Another year, another Xmas letter.

We rang in 2011 with a visit from our family from Texas. Niece Stacie and her husband Chako, and baby Alexander, along with nephew Jacob and his son Ashton. We even made sure there was snow her for them (yes, that was my doing!) Ashton enjoyed his 1st ever snow. We are hoping for lots of visits from all of you in 2012. We offer fresh eggs for your breakfast dining pleasure! We even have a hen that lays BLUE eggs!! Come See...

HUNTER is 8, in 2nd grade and graduated from his pony to a horse this year. He is mom's trail buddy unless dad has him on dirt bikes. He has had a few nasty crashes at high speeds so horses might win out in the short run. He reads like a maniac and is on a mission to have more legos than Legoland. He has even tried to talk Mom into covering the walls of his room with lego boards. Sesaon 2 of "Basketball Dreams" starts soon...

GLEN III is finally a senior, is 17 years old and is now a STATE CHAMPION!! The Westminster Baseball team won 1st in state in June. What an exciting time! We are pretty sure that they inspired the Cardinals to win the World Series. This year promises to be another exciting one for the Wildcats. Glen plans to pitch for 1 to 2 years for Meremac in St. Louis after graduation. He is looking to put on about 30 pounds, get stronger, and then see what his options are. Big year ahead for this south paw.

WHITNEY is in her 3rd year at Lindenwood U where she still plays soccer (if anyone is counting, that makes 13 years of training, injuries, wins and loses.) Sadly, there are days that her body feels much older than her 21 years young. Yes, that was the big milestone this year...she is legal! Seems to be a big deal to these college students. Never was in our day (no comments please.) Whit is home for xmas break for 6 weeks...yay!

Grady, the spoiled rotten Fox Terrier, is now 5 years old and we have declared it a miracle that he seems to be calming down a wee bit. He still can't figure out which end of a skunk to stay away from, thinks cats were created for his personal enjoyment, and eats five times his body weight in junk food daily but sometimes, just sometimes, he comes when called!

So, we Calvins out here on the bluff are praying for a blessed holiday season and coming year for all of you reading this. There is no better time to stop and remember that God came to live among us in the form of that tiny baby surrounded by common animals in a barn. Where is He living today? Hopefully in our hearts, in our lives, in our actions, and in our words...

Merry Christmas

With Love,
Glen, Lori, Whitney, Glen and Hunter
